Modern Family Wins Outstanding Comedy Series At The Emmys For The Third Year In A Row!
Posted: 23 Sep 2012 08:19 PM PDT
So many great nominees this year, but there can only be one...
Surprise, surprise, Modern Family took home the top honor AGAIN!
It's not like Sofia Vergara and the gang don't deserve it, but this is the THIRD Emmy win in the Outstanding Comedy Series category...in a row.
Oh and Michael J. Fox took the stage to present the award (above) and deliver a HIGHlarious zinger. Who doesn't love that guy???
The ABC series kinda cleaned up during the evening since Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen won the awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy.
Job well done everybody!
Homeland Wins Dramatic Series Emmy! It's A Clean Sweep!
Posted: 23 Sep 2012 08:15 PM PDT
Inconceivable!
Facing off against perennial powerhouses Mad Men, Downton Abbey, and Breaking Bad, the new kid on the block emerged victorious!!
Showtime's new series Homeland won some acting Emmys for Damian Lewis and the baby-bumpin' Claire Danes and then took home the top prize -- Best Dramatic Series!
And lets not forget co-star Mandy Patinkin. Neither he nor his beard won any awards tonight but only because The Princess Bride was mysteriously ineligible!
Congratulations, Homeland!!
Now there's pressure on you guys and gals to come back with a stellar second season but we think you can handle it!

The Outstanding Miniseries Or Movie Emmy was just announced, and it was a Game Change!
The HBO movie took home its fourth award of the evening.
Earlier, Danny Strong won for writing, Jay Roach for directing, and Julianne Moore for actressing.
Executive producer Tom Hanks accepted the award for the biting political comedy that obviously didn't bite!
HBO couldn't be there to accept as it's already working on the Emmy-winning movie about the 2012 election! LOLz!

Woo! Congrats Kevin Costner!
The oh-so-handsome actor just took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or Movie for his role as Devil in Hatfields & McCoys!!!
The mini-series, which premiered just this past May, drew in millions of viewers week after week... and we can only assume Kevin's one of the reasons why!
The multi-talented distinguished actor also produces the show, so this is a bit of a double-win for him!
This award makes Kevin's very FIRST Emmy and we think he's more than deserving of the honor!
Way to go, Kev!

In Memoriam At The Emmys…
Posted: 23 Sep 2012 07:43 PM PDT
Death is a sad fact of life.
We've written about A LOT of famous faces that passed away over the last year and we weren't too happy about it, but we are happy to see them being remembered at the Emmys (above).
Andy Griffith, Michael Clarke Duncan, Phyllis Diller, Heavy-D, Andy Rooney, Steve Jobs, Patrice O'Neal, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Tony Scott, Mike Wallace, Ernest Borgnine, Dick Clark, and SO MANY more wil be dearly missed.
Rest in peace and THANK YOU ALL for the countless hours of entertainment you've provided for us over the years!
Julianne Moore Wins Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie!

Yeah, we'd vote for this win.
Julianne Moore killed as Sarah Palin in Game Change!
And the Academy recognized her for it tonight as she won for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie! Go gurl!!
She totally got kicked off stage with the music, but her speech was so sweet and heartfelt, how could anyone not love her???

Tom Berenger Wins A Supporting Actor Emmy! Seriously!

You sly dog!!
He hasn't been a major league A-lister for a few years now, but Tom Berenger is back! With a renewed vengeance!!
And now he has a Supporting Actor in a Miniseries Emmy to set on his mantle!
Or he could sell it on eBay!
History's Hatfields & McCoys was one of the critical darlings this award season and we're totes glad it wasn't completely overlooked!
Congrats, Tommy Boy! Your trophy is well deserved!!

Congrats to Jessica Lange!
The American Horror Story star took home the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress In A Miniseries or Movie!
She figured out just the right amount of creepiness in her role as Constance. Then she turned the creepy dial up to eleven!
We're glad the miniseries series will be back soon to scare the shiz out of us all over again!
Oh, wait, that means the Emmy will live next to the murder house now! Eesh! Good luck, golden gurl!

Jimmy Kimmel Dies At The Emmys?!
Posted: 23 Sep 2012 07:27 PM PDT
Every year, the Emmys take a moment to honor the stars of the small screen that are no longer with us. This year, they decided to pay homage to the host that won't go away.
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see the HIGHlarious Jimmy Kimmel presenting the In Memoriam to the late Jimmy Kimmel.
He even got Josh Groban to sing his threnody!
It's just too bad the sketch meant that there was no more time for Matt Damon at the end of the show!
