Cassidy Goodson, 14-year-old teen, was charged with first-degree murder by a local court, as quoted by local media, Ledger.
Goodson gave birth in the bathroom house on Wednesday (19/9). No one from the family who knew of her pregnancy. She used scissors to remove the baby. After the baby came out, she immediately strangle the baby until stop breathing.
“I do not know what to do with my baby,” she told to the police.
To hide the pregnancy, the girl who had just graduated junior high school was always wearing baggy pants. Aunt Goodson actually suspected she was pregnant. However, Teresa Goodson, the mother, denied the possibility.
“She [Teresa] is convinced her daughter is not pregnant,” said a police officer, Grady Judd.
In addition, the Godson also shows the results of a pregnancy test twice to her mother that she was not pregnant. However, it is in the running test was not accompanied by anybody while doing a pregnancy test.
Three days after birth, Teresa smell the a bad odor from room of her daughter. Upon inspection it turns out the smell was coming from a shoe box. When opened, she found a dead baby in it.
Judd believes that Cassidy Goodson’s young age should be taken into account. “Let’s remember she is a child,” he said. “Where was her support system?”
Officials are considering charging adults who may have known about the pregnancy and kept it a secret. Prosecutors are have not yet decided whether to charge Cassidy Goodson as an adult.
Police are now investigating who the father of the poor baby.
