C.F. Martin & Co.'s LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition will make its debut at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) conference at Music City Center on Thursday
English singer songwriter and recent Nashville transplant Ed Sheeran has teamed with guitar company C.F. Martin & Co to create its newest artist signature edition from the Custom Shop -- the LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition.
The guitar, which will make its debut at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) conference at Music City Center on Thursday, features several of Sheeranâ™s trademark details including a fluorescent orange plus sign as a nod to his platinum-selling album âœ+â and est. 1991, the singerâ™s birth year.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the model will be donated to Sheeranâ™s choice charity, the U.K.-based East Angliaâ™s Childrenâ™s Hospices that provides care and support for children and young people with life threatening conditions.
âœI have been a fan of Martin since I started playing guitar and songwriting, and I am honored to have a Signature Edition that bears my own personal imprint,â Sheeran, who has played a LX1E since he was a teen, says in a statement. âœI canâ™t wait to get on stage and perform with it for my fans. I hope they enjoy my new Martin as much as I do!â
Sheeran will play the guitar on Friday when he performs during Todayâ™s summer concert series, which airs 7 a.m. on NBC.
Sheeran is set to play a sold-out fundraiser for Musicians On Call at Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe tonight, and local fans will have another chance to see him live, when he opens for Taylor Swift Sept. 19-21 at Bridgestone Arena. Tickets are $33.35-$89 and are still available for every show through Ticketmaster, 1-800-745-3000.
NAMM, which is Thursday-Saturday, is open to the public on Saturday. Admission is $10 in advance at www.namm.org/summer/2013/musicindustryday or $20 on Saturday at the door.
