When my friends and I produced a video promoting cyber-kindness for our cause, TRUCE (Tolerance, Respect, Understanding, Compassion and Empathy), we had no idea it would bring us to the Teen Choice Awards! After winning first place in the Teen NO BULL Video Awards on Friday night and being presented an award from Glee’s Lauren Potter, I found out I’d also be getting two VIP Passes to the Teen Choice Awards!
It was so exciting to wait and see who would come down the line! I got photos with Bridgit Mendler, Ed Sheeran, Jenna Ushkowitz, Maia Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Tyler Posey, and my personal favorite, Bella Thorne! She was the nicest celeb, hands-down. She asked, “Who has an iPhone?” And when I yelled, “I DO,” she came right over and we posed for a selfie!
Once we got inside, it felt like a party and a concert, not just a TV show! Lucy and Darren did a great job hosting the show. The most bittersweet moment was definitely the first public appearance from the Glee cast when they accepted their award for Best Comedy Show. And the highlight was absolutely One Direction’s epic performance of “Best Song Ever.”
