IOWA CITY (AP) – A fired criminal investigator said Thursday that top Iowa Department of Public Safety officials of retaliated against him for complaining about Gov. Terry Branstad’s speeding vehicle and a wide range of other misconduct.
Larry Hedlund, former special agent with the Division of Criminal Investigation, filed a lawsuit alleging that superiors destroyed his 25-year career over his complaints about rule and legal violations, mismanagement and abuses of power.
